What is The Club? Well, The Club itself is a little shack that was at one time a tool shed, dog house, and who knows what else. It stands behind my house, and underwent some major renovations to become The Club. We built bunks to sleep in, set up an entertainment center to rival any other, and even had a kitchen consisting of a hotplate, a microwave, an old refrigerator, and my family's deep freezer.

We spent many a cripplingly cold night in that place, had some very cool parties on the front porch, and spent countless nights staying up until 5 am racing Hot Wheels cars, watching retarded movies on TV, or beating the sh*t out of each other in an effort to stay warm when it dropped below freezing. We rented movies and had our girlfriends out for romantic (heh) evenings at Le Club. Pretty much the same things that anybody who ever started a club as a kid did. The only difference was that once we got to high school, The Club was no longer just a place to hang out- it was us. The three of us were The Club, and still are to this day, even though one of us is on the other side of the continent.

Jay, Twinkie and I did pretty much everything together, because we lived out in the county and there were no other kids our age. Our houses were fairly close together, and mine was in the middle. Becuse of that, and the fact that my mom fed them, Jay and Twink wound up at my house more than we wound up at either of their houses. Throughout most of middle school and high school, we pulled some pretty crazy shite. We stole road signs (which about got us arrested by Jay's dad, the sherrif); we went "rock climbing" in the local quarry when it was closed (and I nearly got killed in a rock slide); one January, after some mud football with one of our friends (Nat), we decided to swim across my pond- needless to say, we almost all drowned in the icy water, and that was about as close to death as I have ever been; and there are a million other stories. We even made up a set of laws (which you can read on this site), called The Club Papers. They outlined a lot of nonsense, and built a foundation of ludicrousness that was just retarded enough to be the perfect example of the mindset of the three of us at the time.

Overall, The Club was undoubtedly the most important part of my life so far. From it I have two lifelong brothers, and enough memories and stories to fill many a volume. I thank my Lord for all that The Club has been, and all it will yet be. I hope only that everyone might experience the magic of a place like The Club.
